From an early age, I moved to America from the bustling city of Quito, Ecuador. Since then I mainly used art as a way to pass the time, however it was not until my last year of high school when I decided to study illustration in college. While my higher education mostly focused on Graphic Design and Illustration, I also spent a good amount of time traveling Kentucky and Ohio playing guitar in my band, Blindside Drop. Since graduating Morehead State University, I have been spending my time as a commissioned artist while also working as a library assistant to help pay the bills.

My current artistic venture has caused me to gradually stray away from my older, more realistic style. Mainly because I want to make stuff that makes me smile. One thing that was missing in my college years was to actually enjoy what I was drawing. Not that I didn’t have enjoyment out of the process of making my older stuff, but the actual subject matter itself was something that I did not really care about. Because I focused too much on being realistic, and not enough on how it made me feel. Not saying that realism can’t be fun for some people and I’m definitely not saying that realistic art can’t incite some sort of “feeling”, but I noticed that straying away from it has caused me to open new doors in my journey as an artist. I left my comfort zone, and allowed myself to grow.

Here is where I am showcasing my growth.
